𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘥, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘥.

PRODUCTION SYNOPSIS:
“Have you ever tried to climb into a squad car in handcuffs and a petticoat?”
Based on the remarkable life of Wyoming educator, activist, and gender non-conforming pioneer 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 "𝗦𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘆" 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗻 (1946 - 2020).
𝘼 𝙎𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙮 𝙄𝙣 𝙒𝙮𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 is a one-man show, presented as a monologue in three parts.
It runs approximately 1 hour, or 60 minutes.
This is the 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗲 of this script! Meaning this is the first opportunity a company has been granted the rights to a fully staged production.
With that in mind, it is noted that much of the rehearsal process will consist of workshopping, character exploration, and concept development - with a heavy focus on memorization.

ROLE(S) AVAILABLE:
• Sissy Goodwin - A Wyoming man, with a preference for traditionally feminine clothing. Particularly square dance skirts and petticoats.
He is a kind and gentle soul with many facets to his life...A cowboy, a wrestler, a veteran, a plane mechanic, a teacher, a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a sissy.
*𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘢 𝘰𝘧 𝘥𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘦-𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴, 𝘢𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦.

WHAT TO PREPARE:
Please prepare 1 of the 3 monologues provided in the "Discussion" section of this event to present as your audition. Memorization is highly encouraged, though not totally required. Monologues will be posted in the "Discussion" section of the Facebook Event. Familiarize yourself with the other 2 monologues, as the team may want to hear more.
We are looking for an awareness and respect of the material, a connection to this real-life character, and a positive excitement for the production.

REHEARSALS:
First crew/meeting and read-though is scheduled for Monday, January 22nd.
Since this is a one-person show, the rehearsals will be very flexible based on the actor/production team availability.
*This excludes Tech Week, which is mandatory (March 6th - 14th).
