SHOW SYNOPSIS:
A Pulitzer-nominated script! It was a simpler time in the late 1940s, especially in South Georgia and specifically in a sleepy little town called Second Samuel. What had been called the Great Depression was quickly fading into memory. The war had been won, the election was now over, and "Give 'em Hell Harry" was still president. It had been an exciting time for sure, but the folks in Second Samuel were ready for things to settle down and get back to normal. Except - this was the summer Miss Gertrude passed away, and deep dark secrets were about to be revealed. Nobody could have imagined how the death of one sweet little old lady would turn the entire town upside down, leaving everybody in Second Samuel wondering if anything would ever be normal again!

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

• B FLAT - Young, autistic man. Has the kindness and wisdom of a child. The heart and soul of the town.

• FRISKY - Unofficial leader of the town. Owner of the Bait & Brew. Married to Omaha.
(𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦, 20+ 𝘺𝘳𝘴, 𝘊𝘢𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘯)

• U.S. - Kind and patient. Works at the Bait & Brew. Best friend to both B-Flat and Frisky.
(𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦, 20+ 𝘺𝘳𝘴, 𝘈𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯-𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯)

• MANSEL - Harmless but stubborn redneck. Married to Marcela.

• MR. MOZEL - The town bigot. He “don’t like nobody!”

• OMAHA - Cute, stylish, and bossy. Owner of the Change Your Life Hair & Beauty Emporium. Married to Frisky.

• DOC - Wise. Knows everybody’s secrets, but “he ain’t telling.”

• JUNE - The town undertaker. The living make him nervous.

REHEARSALS:
3-4 nights a week, depending on cast availability. First read-through tentatively on February 24th at 6:00 PM. You may not be scheduled for every rehearsal or for the full evening even when called.
Tech week will take place April 23rd - 27th and is mandatory.

PERFORMANCES:
April 28th - May 8th
